Getting started
What is Playvo?
Playvo is a booking and payment platform built for Pakistani businesses. You create a page at playvo.pk/your-name, list your services and hours, and customers book and pay online in PKR through PayFast. It takes five minutes to set up.
Permalink →Who is Playvo for?
Playvo is for any Pakistani business that takes appointments and payments — sports clubs, tutors, Quran teachers, shaadi halls, studios, salons, clinics, seminar organisers, and more. If you accept a booking and a payment, Playvo can run your front desk.
Permalink →How do I sign up for Playvo?
Go to playvo.pk and click Start free. Enter your Pakistani mobile number, confirm the 6-digit OTP we text you, and pick a name for your booking page. You can add services and availability immediately after.
Permalink →Is Playvo free?
Yes, Playvo is free to sign up and use. We do not charge a platform commission on bookings. The only cost is PayFast's payment-gateway fee, which is deducted from each transaction at settlement.
Permalink →Do I need a website to use Playvo?
No. Your Playvo page replaces a website for booking. Share your playvo.pk/your-name link in your Instagram bio, WhatsApp status, Google Business profile, or as a QR code at the counter.
Permalink →Can I change my playvo.pk URL later?
Not directly from the dashboard. Your URL (slug) is fixed once your page goes live to avoid breaking shared links. If you need to change it, email [email protected] and we will migrate the slug, set up a redirect from the old URL, and preserve all your bookings.
Permalink →Can I run multiple businesses on one Playvo account?
Each phone number maps to one Playvo account, which hosts one public booking page. If you run multiple distinct businesses, sign up each one with its own phone number. Sub-brands or multiple services within one business are handled through the Services tab.
Permalink →Do I need a registered business or NTN to use Playvo?
No. Anyone with a Pakistani mobile number and a valid CNIC can sign up. A registered business, NTN, or STRN is not required to receive bookings. You are still responsible for reporting income and paying any applicable taxes to the FBR.
Permalink →What languages does Playvo support?
The dashboard is currently in English. Your public booking page can display Urdu content in your bio, service names, and descriptions. Full Urdu UI is on the roadmap.
Permalink →Can I add my own logo and branding to my Playvo page?
Yes. You can upload a logo and write a business bio from the Settings tab. Deeper customisation — custom colours, fonts, or a custom domain like book.yourbusiness.com — is available on request for high-volume accounts.
Permalink →Is there a Playvo mobile app?
Not yet. Playvo is a fast web app that works perfectly in any mobile browser. We recommend adding playvo.pk to your home screen for an app-like experience. A native app is being considered for 2026.
Permalink →Does Playvo work on slow or 2G internet?
Yes. Playvo is optimised for Pakistani network conditions. Pages are server-rendered and images are lightweight, so the booking page loads in under 3 seconds on a 3G connection.
Permalink →Payments & payouts
How long do businesses take to receive funds from bookings?
Funds are settled to your account within 2–3 working days of a successful booking. PayFast, our payment gateway, runs the settlement schedule. Weekends and Pakistani public holidays may extend this window.
Permalink →Where do my funds land?
Funds are paid into the payout method you set in your Playvo settings — an EasyPaisa number, a JazzCash number, or a Pakistani bank account via IBAN. You can update your payout details anytime.
Permalink →What payment methods can customers use?
Customers can pay by debit card, credit card (Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay), mobile wallets (EasyPaisa, JazzCash), and Raast, through PayFast's hosted checkout. All transactions are in Pakistani rupees.
Permalink →How much does Playvo charge?
Playvo charges zero platform commission. The only fee is PayFast's gateway fee, which is approximately 2.4%–3.5% plus tax per transaction depending on payment method. See PayFast's FAQ for the current rate card.
Permalink →What currency does Playvo use?
All pricing, payments, and payouts on Playvo are in Pakistani rupees (PKR). International cards are supported by PayFast at the bank's conversion rate.
Permalink →Can I charge different prices for different times or services?
Yes. Each service in Playvo has its own price and duration, so you can create 'Weekday 60-min' and 'Weekend 60-min' as separate services with different prices. Fine-grained dynamic pricing per day is on the roadmap.
Permalink →What happens if a customer's payment fails?
The slot is held for 10 minutes while payment is in progress. If payment fails or times out, the slot is automatically released and the customer sees a retry option. Nothing is charged and the booking is not created until payment succeeds.
Permalink →Can I take a deposit instead of the full amount?
Yes. When setting up a service, choose the Deposit payment mode and enter the deposit amount. Customers pay the deposit online at the time of booking, and you collect the balance from them when they arrive. Both figures show on the booking page and in the confirmation email so nobody is surprised.
Permalink →What payment modes does Playvo support per service?
Playvo offers four payment modes you can set per service. Online charges the full amount at booking through PayFast. Deposit takes a partial amount online and collects the balance on arrival. On arrival skips online payment entirely — the customer just reserves the slot and pays you in cash when they show up. Free is for zero-cost sessions like workshops, consults, or trial classes.
Permalink →Can I accept cash on arrival instead of online payment?
Yes. Set the service's payment mode to On arrival and the customer can book without paying anything online — they simply pay you in cash or however you like when they show up. The slot is still locked to them so nobody else can book it. Good for businesses that prefer cash or whose customers do not use cards and wallets.
Permalink →Does Playvo handle GST or sales tax?
No. Playvo does not calculate, collect, or remit any taxes on your behalf. Prices you enter are the final amount charged to the customer. You are responsible for any GST, sales tax, or income tax owed to the FBR.
Permalink →Can I offer discounts or coupon codes?
Not yet. Discount codes are planned. For now, you can create a separate reduced-price service (e.g. 'Student rate') and share its direct link with eligible customers.
Permalink →Can customers outside Pakistan pay for a booking?
Yes. PayFast accepts international Visa, Mastercard, and UnionPay cards. The customer pays in PKR, and their issuing bank handles any currency conversion. This is useful for overseas Pakistanis booking services for family in Pakistan.
Permalink →Is there a minimum booking amount?
PayFast generally requires a minimum transaction of PKR 100 (one hundred rupees). Below this, the gateway will reject the payment. Free bookings (PKR 0) are supported and skip the PayFast flow entirely.
Permalink →Do customers get an invoice or receipt?
Yes. Every confirmed booking triggers a confirmation email with booking details and amount paid. PayFast also sends its own payment receipt to the customer's email. Formal GST invoices are not generated automatically.
Permalink →Can I change my payout method later?
Yes. Go to Settings, update your payout method (EasyPaisa, JazzCash, or Bank), and save. Payments that were already in settlement will still use the old details; new transactions will use the updated method.
Permalink →My payout is late — what should I do?
First, confirm the booking is at least 3 working days old (weekends and Pakistani public holidays do not count). If it is still missing, double-check your payout details in Settings. If those are correct, email [email protected] with the booking reference and we will investigate with PayFast.
Permalink →Bookings
How does a booking work on Playvo?
A customer opens your playvo.pk page, picks a service and a time, enters their name and email, and pays with card or wallet. You receive an email and the booking appears in your dashboard. The slot is locked to that customer only after payment is confirmed.
Permalink →What happens if a customer does not show up?
You keep the payment. The booking can be marked as No-show in your dashboard for your records. Playvo does not automatically refund no-shows.
Permalink →Can I add bookings manually from WhatsApp or a phone call?
Not yet. Playvo currently requires every booking to start from your public page so payment, hold-timer, and receipt all run through the same system. Manual bookings are on the roadmap.
Permalink →Can two people book the same slot?
No. Playvo holds a slot for the first customer who starts paying for 10 minutes, then releases it if payment does not complete. A slot is only permanently taken once payment succeeds.
Permalink →How far in advance can customers book?
Playvo shows the next 30 days of availability by default. If you want to extend the booking window or restrict to same-week only, this is configurable on request.
Permalink →Can I require a minimum notice period for bookings?
Yes, through the buffer-before setting on a service. For example, setting a 60-minute buffer means customers cannot book a slot starting in the next hour — useful for services that need travel or prep time.
Permalink →Can customers reschedule their own bookings?
Not currently. A customer who wants to reschedule should contact you directly; you can cancel their old booking, refund them, and they can rebook. Self-serve rescheduling is planned.
Permalink →Do I get notified when someone books?
Yes. You receive an email at your registered address the moment a booking is confirmed (payment successful). The booking also appears in your dashboard in real time.
Permalink →Does Playvo support group classes or multi-seat bookings?
Yes. Each service has a 'Max bookings per slot' setting. Set it to 8 for a yoga class, 15 for a seminar, or leave it at 1 for one-on-one appointments. Customers can only book if seats are still available.
Permalink →Can customers book a recurring weekly slot?
Not through a single click yet. A customer currently needs to book each week separately. Recurring bookings (subscriptions) are on the roadmap — let us know if your use case depends on this.
Permalink →Can I block out specific hours on a specific day?
Yes. Use the Availability tab → Add override. Pick the date, choose 'Custom hours', and set the reduced open window. To block only part of a day (say a 1-hour lunch break every day), we recommend setting two shorter service windows in your weekly schedule.
Permalink →How do buffer times work?
Each service has 'Buffer before' and 'Buffer after' settings in minutes. These block out that amount of time around every booking of that service so the next customer cannot book too close. Useful for cleaning, travel, or setup time.
Permalink →Can I still take walk-in customers?
Yes. Playvo only manages bookings made through your public page. Walk-ins are handled however you handle them today (cash, invoice, etc.). Just make sure not to double-book: if a walk-in takes a slot, block it in Playvo so nobody books online at the same time.
Permalink →Cancellations & refunds
What happens if a business cancels a booking?
Businesses are required to honour every confirmed booking. If you cancel a confirmed booking, you are responsible for refunding the customer in full within 7 working days. Playvo does not reverse payments for business-initiated cancellations — you must refund the customer yourself via bank transfer, EasyPaisa, or JazzCash.
Permalink →Can customers cancel a booking?
It depends on the business. Refund policy is set by each business and shown on their booking page. By default, confirmed bookings are final. Contact the business directly to request a cancellation or refund.
Permalink →How long does a refund take to appear?
Once a business initiates a refund, it typically takes 5–10 working days to appear on the customer's card or wallet. The timing is set by the issuing bank, not Playvo.
Permalink →What if a customer opens a chargeback?
Chargebacks and disputes are handled by PayFast and the customer's bank. Disputed amounts and any fees are deducted from the business's future payouts. Businesses are expected to respond with booking proof within 48 hours.
Permalink →Can I give a partial refund?
Yes. Because Playvo does not process business-initiated refunds automatically, partial refunds work exactly like full ones — you transfer the agreed amount to the customer via EasyPaisa, JazzCash, or bank transfer. Record the refund in your own accounts.
Permalink →Who pays the PayFast gateway fee on a refund?
PayFast's gateway fee on the original transaction is generally non-refundable. When you refund the customer, you decide whether to absorb that fee or deduct it from the refund amount. Most businesses absorb it as a cost of cancellation.
Permalink →What if I have to close my business?
Cancel all upcoming confirmed bookings and refund those customers in full within 7 working days. Then email [email protected] so we can deactivate your public page. Existing completed bookings remain in your dashboard for your records.
Permalink →How do I reschedule a booking?
Self-serve rescheduling is coming soon. Today: confirm the new time with the customer, cancel the old booking in Playvo (this triggers a cancellation email), and have the customer rebook at the new time. Or keep the old slot and note the change in your own records.
Permalink →What if a customer disputes a no-show charge?
If the customer opens a chargeback claiming the service was not provided, the dispute is reviewed by their bank via PayFast. Your defence: show timestamps of the confirmed booking and evidence they did not show up. A clear no-show policy on your page helps win disputes.
Permalink →Can I block a customer who cancels repeatedly?
Not at the account level yet. For now, note their email and politely decline future bookings by cancelling them and refunding. Customer block lists are on the roadmap.
Permalink →By industry
How do sports club bookings work on Playvo?
Create one service per court, pitch, or net (e.g. 'Court 1 — 60 min', 'Net 2 — 30 min'). Set the price, buffer time for resets, and hours you are open. Customers pick a court and a time slot, pay online, and show up. You can block specific dates for maintenance or tournaments.
Permalink →How does Playvo work for tutors and teachers?
Create services for each subject or session length ('O-level Math — 60 min', 'Quran Hifz — 45 min'). Customers or parents book a lesson slot and pay up-front, so you are never chasing fees. For online lessons, add your Zoom or Google Meet link in the post-booking confirmation email.
Permalink →Can shaadi halls use Playvo for full-day bookings?
Yes. Set your service duration to the length of your standard event (e.g. 6 or 12 hours), and list it as 'Mehndi booking', 'Barat booking', etc. The full-day lock-out is handled automatically — once someone books, the whole day or timeband is unavailable to others.
Permalink →Can studios run group classes on Playvo?
Yes. For a yoga class with 12 mats, create a service with 'Max bookings per slot' = 12. Each customer books an individual seat in the same class. When the class fills, the slot is marked full.
Permalink →Can I use Playvo for a clinic or medical appointments?
Yes, for general appointments and consultations. Playvo is not a medical records system, so do not store health information in booking notes. For prescriptions or medical reports, use a dedicated EMR. Payment up-front reduces no-shows significantly.
Permalink →Can Playvo work for a salon with multiple staff members?
Currently Playvo tracks one calendar per business. If you have 3 stylists, you can create separate services per staff ('Hair with Ali', 'Hair with Sana') as a workaround. Full multi-staff support is on the roadmap — email [email protected] if this is critical for you.
Permalink →Can I sell tickets to a seminar or workshop with Playvo?
Yes. Create a one-off service with the seminar date and time, set 'Max bookings per slot' to your venue capacity, and share the link. Customers pay and receive a confirmation email. For recurring weekly classes, create a service and set your hours accordingly.
Permalink →Can a photographer use Playvo for bookings?
Yes. Create services per shoot type ('Portrait — 60 min', 'Wedding — 8 hrs'). Playvo takes full payment up-front, which is ideal for deposit-heavy businesses. Use buffer times around wedding shoots to block out travel and prep.
Permalink →What if my business doesn't fit any of these categories?
If your business takes appointments and payments, Playvo works. We have customers in tuition, physiotherapy, pet grooming, mechanic workshops, cooking classes, and more. Try setting up in 5 minutes — if anything doesn't fit, email [email protected] and we will help.
Permalink →PayFast
Is PayFast safe and certified?
Yes. PayFast is a licensed Payment System Operator (PSO) and Payment Service Provider (PSP) under the State Bank of Pakistan. It is PCI DSS Level 1 certified, the highest level of payment security, so card data never touches Playvo's servers.
Do Playvo bookings accept international cards?
Yes. PayFast accepts all major international cards — Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay, American Express — in addition to Pakistani debit cards and mobile wallets. The customer's issuing bank handles any currency conversion.
Permalink →Does PayFast use 3D-Secure?
Yes. Every card transaction goes through 3D-Secure OTP verification. The customer receives a one-time password from their bank to approve the payment, which protects both sides against fraud.
Permalink →Does PayFast support Raast?
Yes. PayFast supports Raast — Pakistan's instant bank-to-bank payment network — alongside cards and mobile wallets. Customers see Raast as one of the available payment options at checkout. Settlement to the business still takes 2–3 working days via PayFast.
How does PayFast protect against fraud?
PayFast runs real-time fraud detection (FRMS) on every transaction and enforces 3D-Secure OTP on cards. Suspicious transactions are declined or flagged for review. This sometimes means legitimate cards get rejected — the customer should try a different card or wallet.
Permalink →Does Playvo or PayFast store my card's CVV?
No. Neither Playvo nor PayFast stores the CVV (the 3 digits on the back of your card). PayFast is PCI DSS Level 1 certified, which forbids storing CVVs. You enter it fresh for every payment.
Permalink →The customer's payment page is stuck — what do they do?
Ask them to refresh, confirm their bank's 3D-Secure OTP prompt, and try again. If it still fails, the slot will release automatically after 10 minutes and they can rebook. If their card is rejected repeatedly, they should try a different card, EasyPaisa, or JazzCash.
Permalink →Do I need my own PayFast merchant account?
No. Playvo uses its own PayFast merchant integration, so you do not need to sign up or register with PayFast separately. You give us your payout details (EasyPaisa / JazzCash / Bank), and PayFast settles to that account via our merchant relationship.
Permalink →Trust & safety
Where is my data stored?
Playvo's database is hosted on Supabase and the site on Vercel. Data centres are in Mumbai (for the closest latency to Pakistan). All traffic uses HTTPS. Payment card data is never stored by Playvo — it is handled directly by PayFast.
Permalink →How is my Playvo account secured?
Playvo uses phone-based OTP login — there is no password that can be leaked or phished. A fresh 6-digit code is sent by SMS each time you log in. Only someone with access to your SIM can access your account.
Permalink →How do I contact Playvo support?
Email [email protected] for platform issues, [email protected] for data requests, or [email protected] to report a vulnerability. We reply to Lahore-time business-hour emails within one working day.
Permalink →What if someone hacks my Playvo account?
Because Playvo uses phone-based OTP login, an attacker would need access to your SIM to log in. If you lose your SIM, contact your mobile operator to block it immediately, then email [email protected] with your CNIC so we can freeze the account until you verify.
Permalink →Can I export my bookings and customer data?
Yes on request. Email [email protected] from your registered email and we will deliver a CSV of your bookings and customer data within 5 working days. Direct in-dashboard CSV export is coming soon.
Permalink →Who owns the data on my Playvo page?
You do. The content you upload (business name, logo, services, bio) remains your intellectual property. Playvo holds a limited licence to display it on our platform to run your booking page. When you close your account, that licence ends.
Permalink →Does Playvo comply with Pakistani data-protection law?
Yes. Playvo complies with current Pakistani law including the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016. We are monitoring the Personal Data Protection Bill and will update our practices when it becomes law. We operate under principles comparable to GDPR: lawful basis, data minimisation, right to access, and deletion on request.
How do I delete my Playvo account permanently?
Email [email protected] from your registered email with the subject 'Delete my account'. We will confirm, cancel any upcoming bookings, and remove your personal data within 30 days. Some records (payment transactions, tax data) are retained for 5 years as required by Pakistani law.
Permalink →What happens if Playvo goes down during a peak booking time?
Playvo is hosted on Vercel with a status page at status.playvo.pk. If bookings cannot be made, slots remain held but no new bookings will be lost. Customers see a friendly retry screen and the slot is released if they cannot complete payment. We monitor 24/7.

Which browsers does Playvo support?
Playvo works in the last two major versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge. On Android and iOS, the default browser (Chrome on Android, Safari on iOS) is fully supported. Internet Explorer is not supported.
Permalink →Does Playvo have an API I can integrate with?
A public API is not yet available. If you need to sync bookings to Google Calendar, Notion, Zapier, or your own CRM, reach out to [email protected] and we will prioritise based on demand.
Permalink →Can I sync Playvo bookings to Google Calendar?
Not directly yet. Every confirmed booking includes date and time in the confirmation email, so you can add it manually to your calendar. One-click Google Calendar / Outlook sync is on the roadmap.
Permalink →Does Playvo send webhooks on booking events?
Not yet. Webhooks for booking.created, booking.cancelled, and payment.received events are planned for the API release. For now, every event triggers an email to your registered address.
Permalink →Can I use a custom domain like book.mybusiness.com?
Custom-domain support is available on request for established businesses. Email [email protected] with your domain and we will set up the CNAME. Your playvo.pk/your-name URL will continue to work as a fallback.
Permalink →Can I add Google Analytics or Meta Pixel to my booking page?
Not yet. Playvo has its own privacy-preserving analytics — you can see booking counts and revenue in the dashboard. Custom pixel support is on the roadmap. For now, track campaign conversions via the source you share the link on (Instagram, WhatsApp, etc.).
Permalink →Can I import existing bookings from another system?
Yes, as a one-time setup favour. Email [email protected] with a CSV of your existing bookings (name, email, date, time, service, amount), and we will import them free of charge for new accounts.
